Armored Truck Door Flies Open on An Atlanta Highway Pouring Out Cash

People where scattering to grab loads of money that was raining out all over an Atlanta highway when an armored truck door didn't latch shut. Some good Samaritans actually turned the money in too.

Police say approximately $100,000 spilled onto I-285 near Atlanta on Tuesday night and they are begging for people who found the money to turn it back in. "While we certainly understand the temptation, it’s still theft and the money should be returned," Dunwoody Police wrote on Facebook.

It's not likely they will see most of the money returned, but there have been several people that did turn the money back in.

See there are some honest people in the world! Would you return it?

A statement by the Dunwoody police department read, "Yes, it is considered theft. Georgia Code Section: 16-8-6. Theft of lost or mislaid property. A person commits the offense of theft of lost or mislaid property when he comes into control of property that he knows or learns to have been lost or mislaid and appropriates the property to his own use without first taking reasonable measures to restore the property to the owner."

You could see jail time if they find you and you don't return it.
