Bruce Willis' wife Emma Heming posted an emotional anniversary photo to Instagram on Sunday (December 29), revealing that after 17 years of marriage, their wedding anniversaries leave her with "heaviness" in her heart amid the Die Hard actor's ongoing battle with dementia.

Hemming, 46, admitted that milestones such as these "stir up all the feelings," and the excitement she once felt has now been replaced with anger and grief.

"Anniversaries used to bring excitement — now, if I’m honest, they stir up all the feelings, leaving a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach. I give myself 30 minutes to sit in the ‘why him, why us,’ to feel the anger and grief."

Despite Willis' grim diagnosis and continued struggle with Aphasia (a common form of frontotemporal dementia) Heming and the pair's two children Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, just feel blessed to be in his life.

"Then I shake it off and return to what is. And what is… is unconditional love. I feel blessed to know it, and it’s because of him. I’d do it all over again and again in a heartbeat."

The sentimental caption was accompanied by a photo of Heming and the 69-year-old Moonlighting alum soaking up sunshine and precious moments together in Turks and Caicos.

Willis announced his battle with dementia in 2022 and his family has since been very vocal about both the struggles, and silver linings attached to the condition.
