Olivia Munn has struggled with feeling "guilty" amid her cancer journey as the sometimes "debilitating" exhaustion has affected the way she would like be a mom to her two children.

On Wednesday (October 23), the Newsroom actress appeared on Today where she shared how her health journey has impacted her role as a parent. Earlier this year, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 and has since undergone several surgeries and treatment, per People. Even though she needed to focus on getting well, she has still felt guilty for not being as present as she would like for her two kids with husband John Mulaney, 2-year-old Malcom and newborn daughter Méi, born via surrogate last month.

"There is a lot of guilt that I had and still have for being sick for so long and being bedridden through so many surgeries," she said, adding, "I mean, I thought when I got through the big hunk of surgeries, like the four surgeries in the beginning, that I would be able to get back on my feet. But then there came the first wave of medication and that just knocked me down and it was debilitating."

Munn, who has previously said not being as active as she wanted to be while parenting her son was "one of the hardest things" of her health journey, added that she felt guilty not being "around as much."

"I found that I was just tired and not around as much and i couldn't hold them as much and I couldn't go to the playground as much. And it was really exhausting," she said. "And there's just a lot of guilt."

With the help of her doctor, she is finding a balance between being the mom she wants to be to her two kids and protecting her own health.

"I work with my oncologist a lot to try to figure out what I can do," she said. "We're just a such a little family, we're really tight and we have a lot of fun and we laugh all the time. And John is just the most amazing husband and father, and so we figure out a way to make it all work despite how tired I can be at all times."
