American Idol's Upcoming Season Will Have "Virtual Auditions"

American Idol is making moves to adapt and push through 2020. The major hit singing competition has announced that it's upcoming season will launch a virtual nationwide search. Contestants will now audition using "custom-built Zoom technology."

Auditions for the show will start August 10th in each state, include Washington DC, and will be open to anyone between the ages of 15 and 28. While audition will be happening this fall, the official release will be sometime in spring 2021.

It'll be interesting to see how this will work. What's the custom-build zoom technology? Will contestants be provided with better web-cams and microphones? I'm sure some people think television will be boring after this year since production for everything has either had to stop or make crazy changes, but I'm actually excited and curious to see how this show will adapt.
