Get ready to toss a coin to our new soccer team, and the 30th team to join the MLS: Charlotte FC! Of course, fans all over the world have a lot to say about it.
Simple, classic, and clean with the color scheme we're all familiar with here in the Queen City. Charlotte FC makes a nod to all of its royal heritage, banking influence, and it sticks with a design that was probably expected by everyone that was anticipating this announcement.
Most fans from Charlotte and the Carolinas are happy with the straight-forward choice, while other MLS and worldwide futball fans seem disappointed in the lack of originality. Personally, I think it's the smartest move for a new franchise. After all, it won't be the logo and name that define the reputation of team, but the games that they play.
Charlotte FC's first match isn't until 2022, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they're going to grow and develop in that time. I'll be working on my blue-and-black royal garment while in quarantine... maybe even a big, fake bag of money to flex at the games. That would be cute.
