Unemployed Men Become Video Game Coaches During Coronavirus Outbreak

Have you ever considered if you could turn your hobby into a successful side hustle? Well right now might be the perfect time to try. According to CNN, some men that have been laid off due to the coronavirus pandemic have started successful side gigs in offering online video game coaching to keep bringing in income.

Trevor Andrews, a music teacher and concert violist, had to put his job on hold after the spread of Covid_19. He was able to start his private coaching side hustle on the popular freelance website Fiverr, and has been able to bring in $500 in March at a rate of $25 an hour.

"I'm good at explaining things," says Trevor Andrews, who normally works as a music teacher and concert violist. "Just like when I'm practicing the viola...you're always self critiquing, and you're always figuring out what you're doing wrong and how to get better. "I'm good at explaining things. Just like when I'm practicing the viola...you're always self critiquing, and you're always figuring out what you're doing wrong and how to get better," Trevor explains. "If I'm being honest, I should charge more," he adds. "But it's a hard thing to argue to people who do want to buy those things a lot of the time. It's a perceived value."

At the same time, a 21-year-old named Tyler Cunningham promoted his Super Smash Bros. coaching side hustle into a full-time gig after losing his job as a pharmacy cashier. According to Tyler, "COVID has undoubtedly brought in more customers," he says. "As more competitive and casual players are stuck inside without skilled opponents to practice against, online coaching has become a very popular response to that problem."

It's awesome to see people make the most out of the situation! If you could start yours today, what would your perfect social distancing side hustle be?
