WATCH: Winner of Best Illusion of 2019

I've love illusions. I've always found it interesting how easy it is for our brains to get tricked through visual imagery. You may have seen portraits that look like two different faces, ballerina gifs that turn in both directions, or maybe pictures that look like they're moving even though they're completely still. They're fun tricks to show you that not everything is as it seems! It's one of the reasons I went through a "Miming" phase in middle school... True stuff.

So today I found the Dual Axis Illusion, the winner of the "Best Illusion of the Year Contest 2019." It's hard to explain what's happening in the illusion, but luckily the video explains how it works (my head thinks it's rotating on the y-axis most of the time). If you're looking for a real head-scratcher to show your friends, check out this video!
