Here's What Kelly Clarkson Did To Lose 37 Pounds

She looks amazing!

Kelly Clarkson has been rocking the red carpet lately, especially since she's lost 37 pounds.

The singer says she cleaned up her eating habits after struggling with a thyroid issue. Clarkson attributes her weight loss to the book The Plant Paradox by Dr. Steven R. Gundry.

She also notes that weight loss wasn't necessarily her goal.

“I did it for this autoimmune disease that I had and I had a thyroid issue,” Clarkson explained. A source adds to PEOPLE that “weight loss wasn’t the goal,” for the mom of two. “This was an overall health approach.”


Throughout the diet, Clarkson had to cut out a ton of foods we eat on a regular basis.

This included most starches, from brown rice to potatoes; vegetables that are thought to cause inflammation, like tomatoes, peppers, chickpeas and more; all fruit, except for in-season berries; some forms of dairy like Greek yogurt and cottage cheese; and more.
