Diners are more than just the perfect addition to any road trip or the setting for satiating any late-night snack craving. According to the site, the best retro diner in all of North Carolina is Al's Diner. This Pittsboro spot is a favorite in the community, serving diner staples and tasty twists since 1997. Al's Diner, which has a 4.5 star rating on Google and nearly 1,000 reviews, is located at 535 West Street.

"Customers love this drive-thru diner thanks to its daily-changing menu featuring classics such as chicken and dumplings, cheeseburger sliders, fried chicken club sandwiches, and spicy shrimp wraps.
