Those Jennifer Lopez Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show Rumors Are Heating Up

Jennifer Lopez is in talks to headline the Super Bowl LIV halftime show, as per sources close to Us Weekly.

As fans whispers continue, particularly because of Lopez's recent tweet promoting the NFL, insiders close to the celebrity gossip outlet confirmed that the superstar, 50, is in talks to provide the musical entertainment for the February 2020 championship game in Miami. JAY-Z, who partnered with the football league in August, spoke out about rumors that the Hustlers star will headline the big show. "Sometimes it may happen and it may wind up that the person is from the city that they perform," he previously said at press conference in August. "But you don’t want to get in that space ‘cause then who performs in Tampa [in 2021]?"

Lopez spoke out about the possibility of performing at the game with ET. "Yeah, we've thought about the Super Bowl and that it's in Miami is a big deal but we'll see," she told the outlet. "They make their own decisions over there."

Despite the huge audience that the Super Bowl halftime show draws, many artists like Pink and Rihanna reportedly turned down the invite to perform at this year's show. While negotiations for the former took too long, the latter declined the offer to headline the show because she supports Colin Kaepernick. "The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year's performer in Atlanta," the insider revealed in October 2018. "They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL's stance." As you know, Kaepernick was the first NFL player to kneel during the National Anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice.
