It looks like big changes are coming to the Miss America Organization.
Gretchen Carlson, chair of the Board of Trustees of the Miss America Organization and former Miss America, made the announcement on GMA Tuesday. Carlson said contestants will no longer be judged off of physical appearance and women of all shapes and sizes will participate.
The evening gown portion of the competition will also be eliminated. Contestants are now encouraged to wear what makes them feel confident.
The news comes after the organization went through a change of leadership and is now run by women. Carlosn says the organization will aim to empower women and be more inclusive.
