CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jan. 17, 2017 – 24 Foundation will be opening registration for its signature fundraiser – the 16th Annual 24 Hours of Booty charity non-competitive cycling and walking event – on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 8 a.m. (EST).
Anyone interested in registering in person may do so on Jan. 24 from 8 a.m.—6 p.m. at the 24 Foundation office located at 801 E. Morehead Street, Suite 308, in Charlotte. 24 Foundation will have computers and staff available to help participants get signed up. Those not able to register in person can do so online atwww.24foundation.org/register or over the phone by calling 704-365-4417.
“We look forward to another amazing event this year and encourage people to come by to meet our team, learn more about our organization and get signed up,” said Mallory Walsh, executive director of 24 Foundation. “We plan to fill our 1,400 rider and 200 walker participant spots quickly so we urge people to register right away on January 24.”
The 16th Annual 24 Hours of Booty presented by Levine Cancer Institute – geared for all ages and abilities – is scheduled to roll on Charlotte’s famed “Booty Loop” in Myers Park from 7 p.m. Friday, July 28 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017. To safely accommodate participants on the 2.9-mile closed course, event registration will be capped, so participants are encouraged to register on Jan. 24.
All cycling and walk participants must register online at www.24foundation.org/register. Prior to the Charlotte event: All riders ages 12 and up must pay a $75 registration fee and are required to raise a minimum of $400. Child riders ages 8-11 must pay a $50 registration fee and are required to raise a minimum of $200. All walkers ages 8 and up must pay a $30 registration fee. Adult walkers ages 18 and up must raise a minimum of $400 and youth walkers ages 17 and under must raise a minimum of $200.Registered participants receive: online fundraising tools; access to templates and fundraising ideas; fundraising level incentives; an event T-shirt; full bike and medical support; entertainment; as well as meals, snacks and drinks throughout the event.
“We are very grateful for our incredible community of participants, donors, cancer survivors, supporters, volunteers, the Myers Park Neighborhood and spectators who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer,” said Walsh. “We’re excited to bring everyone together again this summer for a great event with new elements.”
This year’s event will also include the Second Annual Kids’ Ride and an inaugural Walk:
Second Annual Youth Ride
Children ages 8-11 will be allowed to ride on the “Booty Loop” Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Kids age 7 and under are welcome to participate in Kids’ Fest, which includes a ride around the soccer field at Myers Park Traditional at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29 followed by an ice cream and dance party afterwards. Children and youth riders ages 8-17 can earn fundraising awards. Register online at
